Split Point Lighthouse is a 34 metre concrete tower, and was built
in 1891 by Messrs. R. Anderson & Sons.
The original kerosene lantern was replaced with an acetylene
lantern and sun valve in 1919, which allowed the lighthouse to
become fully automated.
Today the Split Point Lighthouse is powered by mains electricity,
and continues to aid mariners navigating the dangerous waters
along the Victorian coastline.
